International university students learned about the history of the Great Patriotic War through a theatrical production

On November 13, 2025, as part of its policy to preserve and strengthen spiritual and moral values and facilitate the adaptation of international students, Gubkin University organized a cultural visit to the New Art Theater. A group of international students representing countries from Africa, the Middle East, Asia, South America, and Europe attended the play "If the Raven is in the Sky," dedicated to the events of the Great Patriotic War.

Set in 1942 in a future hospital building near the front lines, the play tells a story of frontline love, soldierly friendship, the difficult military life, and the heroism and tragedy of that time. Full of laughter and tears, the play draws parallels with modern times, recalling the youth of the main characters who bravely stood up to defend their homeland.

The performance allowed the foreign guests to experience one of the most significant periods in Russian history, gain a deeper understanding of the country's cultural heritage, and feel an emotional connection with the past.

The event was accompanied by Vladimir Orkin and Galina Moroz, employees of the International Student Services Department.

"Introducing international students to Russian culture, as well as engaging them in socially significant volunteer activities that allow them to experience traditional Russian values, is part of Gubkin University's youth policy. Many graduates, upon returning to their homeland, join the ranks of global public diplomacy, contributing to the development of humanitarian, scientific, and technical ties between our countries," noted Alexander Shcherbina, Head of the International Student Services Department.

Such initiatives aim to create a warm and friendly atmosphere for international students, combining education with cultural and moral development and strengthening international friendship.
