Gubkin University Students Participate in the Summer Cultural Program at Nanjing University of Aeronautics and Astronautics

From July 8 to 16, 2026, Gubkin University students Alina Karpova and Alexandra Serapiao, both from the Faculty of International Energy Business, participated in the summer cultural program at Nanjing University of Aeronautics and Astronautics (ASRTU Youth Aerospace & Culture Summer Program). The event was held as part of the Association of Technical Universities of Russia and China (ATURC), of which Nanjing University serves as the rotating co-chair, along with Samara Korolev University, for 2025-2027. A total of 55 students from 12 Russian and 10 Chinese universities participated in the program.

The summer school not only immersed the students in the academic environment of one of China's leading technical universities but also significantly broadened their intercultural horizons. The rich agenda combined thematic classes, cultural events, and practical activities that fostered professional and personal connections between young people from technical universities in Russia and China.

The program encompassed a wide range of activities, including:
1. Attendance at lectures on aerospace engineering and the fundamentals of aerodynamics.
2. Visit to the headquarters of NR Electric, a company specializing in integrated solutions for the generation, transmission, and distribution of electrical energy.
3. Participation in the design, construction, and flight testing of an aircraft model.
4. Study of the operating principles of a 3D printer and its applications in aeronautics.

In addition to academic studies, students also learned about the history, national traditions, and cultural values of the Chinese people: they learned about traditional Chinese painting in the Xieyi style and Chinese calligraphy, and visited the Presidential Palace in Nanjing, where they learned more about the history of China's former capital.

A closing ceremony was held upon completion of the training. Zhang Guoquan, Deputy Director of the International Cooperation Office at Nanjing University of Aeronautics and Astronautics, presented certificates of completion of the summer program.

Participation in the project within the ATURK is a significant step in creating a unified educational space and training specialists capable of working effectively in an international professional environment. Gubkin Russian State University of Oil and Gas (NRU) views cooperation within the association as a priority area of its international activities and hopes to further expand joint projects with Chinese partners.
