Gubkin University Celebrates Knowledge Day

On September 1, 2026, Gubkin University held ceremonial events dedicated to Knowledge Day. A parade of faculties and a festive concert took place in the university’s inner courtyard. The event was attended by representatives of oil and gas companies and state authorities of the Russian Federation. In 2026, the ranks of the Gubkin community were joined by more than 2,500 people.

The festive events dedicated to Knowledge Day brought together faculty, students, and honored guests on the stage in the university’s inner courtyard. The joyful emotions of the first-year students became the main highlight of the celebration.

After the parade of faculties, Gubkin University Rector Victor Martynov addressed the first-year students and the faculty.

“Dear first-year students, faculty, and staff! Congratulations on our annual holiday – Knowledge Day! Gubkin University is the leading oil and gas university, which will soon celebrate its 100th anniversary, and we are confidently moving toward this long-awaited milestone. Oil and gas specialists face a very important task – to supply the country with fuel and energy, and Gubkin University, as Russia’s flagship industry university, provides the state with highly qualified personnel, including for the Fuel Service of the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation. I congratulate all first-year students on their admission and wish you interesting studies, good health, and to all of us – Victory!” noted Rector Victor Martynov in his address.

A congratulatory message was sent to the university by Deputy Minister of Science and Higher Education of the Russian Federation Olga Petrova. From the stage, the audience was addressed by Oleg Dyachenko, Head of a Division of the Department of State Youth Policy and Educational Activities of the Ministry of Science and Higher Education of the Russian Federation; Alexey Basisty, Deputy General Director for Human Resources at Gazprom Transgaz Moscow LLC; and Stanislav Shiryaev, Head of the Gagarinsky District Administration of Moscow.

The honored guests emphasized the importance of education and science in the modern world and expressed confidence in the successful future of the students who will complete their studies at Gubkin University.

Following the official part, creative studios of the “Gubkinets” Cultural Center named after V.N. Vinogradov performed for the audience.

As part of the festive events, meetings with faculty deans were organized, first-year students attended their first lecture, and throughout the day junior mentors accompanied the first-year students, giving them an introductory tour to help them get acquainted with the student atmosphere of Gubkin University.
