Gubkin University celebrated its 95th anniversary

On April 17, 2025, Gubkin University celebrated its 95th birthday. The celebration was held under the motto "One Step Before the Century". Representatives of leading oil and gas companies of Russia, business and government agencies attended the celebratory events on the occasion of the anniversary.

The series of celebratory events began with the laying of flowers at the monument to the founder of the university, Ivan Mikhailovich Gubkin. Students, members of the board of the Gubkin Alumni Foundation and the university management took part in the ceremony.

Then a ceremonial formation of the personnel of the Military Training Center took place in the courtyard of the university. The team was congratulated by the rector of Gubkin University Viktor Martynov, the head of the Military Training Center Alexey Lavrenchuk and the representative of the department (rocket fuel and fuel) of the Department of Resource Provision of the Ministry of Defense of the Russian Federation Rustam Asadullin.

The events continued with a festive concert at the Gubkinets Community Center. At the beginning, the Rector of Gubkin University, Viktor Martynov, gave an opening speech.

"Good afternoon, dear Gubkin residents and esteemed guests! Today we celebrate the 95th anniversary of Gubkin University! Since 1930, our university has been a forge of personnel for the oil and gas industry, training highly qualified specialists for specific requests from companies, and today it has earned the right to be called a state university. I would like to thank all generations of Gubkin residents who have made our alma mater famous, showing high results in work, study, science and sports. Over the entire period, we have graduated more than 120 thousand specialists, and despite all the existing sanctions, representatives from 97 countries of the world study at our university. We are also proud of our Military Training Center and its graduates, who worthily represent Gubkin University, defending the interests of the country in a special military operation. I wish everyone a good mood, good luck and victories!” noted Rector Viktor Martynov.

Congratulations were expressed on stage by Assistant to Deputy Prime Minister of the Russian Federation Dmitry Chernyshenko Antony Shvindt, Deputy Minister of Science and Higher Education of the Russian Federation Elena Grudinina, Director of the Department of Economic Cooperation of the CIS Executive Committee Mikhail Myskin, Plenipotentiary Minister of the Embassy of the People's Republic of China in the Russian Federation Zhang Wei, Deputy Chairman of the Management Committee of PJSC Gazprom Sergey Khomyakov, Vice President for Legal Support of Business of PJSC NK Rosneft Natalia Mincheva, Vice President of PJSC Transneft Maxim Grishanin, General Director of the Caspian Pipeline Consortium Nikolay Gorban, General Director of JSC MOSGAZ Gasan Gasangadzhiev, Deputy Prime Minister of the Republic of Tatarstan, Plenipotentiary Representative of the Republic of Tatarstan in the Russian Federation Ravil Akhmetshin, Deputy Chairman of the Government of the Sakhalin Region Vyacheslav Alenkov, Deputy Head of the Representative Office of the Yamalo-Nenets Autonomous Okrug to the Government of the Russian Federation Natalia Mineykina, Rector of the Ufa State Petroleum Technological University Oleg Baulin.

In addition, a congratulatory letter from the Minister of Energy of the Russian Federation Sergey Tsivilev, as well as a congratulatory address from the Russian Academy of Natural Sciences, were read to the university. Words of congratulations from the Secretary General of the CIS for conscientious work and significant contribution to the development of the fuel and energy complex of the Commonwealth of Independent States were also heard from the stage. In connection with the 95th anniversary of the university's foundation, it was announced that the Gubkin University staff was awarded an honorary diploma from PAO Gazprom. The staff and students of the Gazprom School of St. Petersburg sent their video congratulations to the university. For many years of effective cooperation in the field of training professional personnel, scientific and innovative activities and in connection with the 95th anniversary of the university's foundation, the staff was awarded an honorary diploma from PAO NK Rosneft. PJSC Transneft also awarded the Gubkin Russian State University of Oil and Gas (National Research University) with an honorary diploma for its significant contribution to the development of the industry's human resources potential and many years of fruitful work.

The staff of Gubkin University received a letter of gratitude of Raisa of the Republic of Tatarstan for their high achievements in education and science, and their great contribution to training highly qualified specialists for the oil and gas industry. In accordance with the order of the Governor of the Sakhalin Region, Valery Limarenko, Gubkin Russian State University of Oil and Gas (National Research University) was also awarded a certificate of honor for its significant contribution to the socio-economic development of the island region. For its great achievements in scientific work and merits in training qualified specialists for the oil and gas industry of the Yamalo-Nenets Autonomous Okrug, Gubkin University was awarded a certificate of honor in accordance with the order of the Governor of the Yamalo-Nenets Autonomous Okrug, Dmitry Artyukhov.

During the festive concert, the choir of the Military Training Center of Gubkin University under the direction of David Karapetyan, as well as the studio teams of the Gubkinets Palace of Culture, showed their talents on stage.
