Gubkin students help to eliminate the consequences of a fuel oil spill on the Black Sea coast
From February 10 to 16, 2025, in Anapa (Krasnodar Krai), as part of the project "Your Move: to Help the Black Sea", a team of 11 students from Gubkin University will take part in the elimination of the consequences of a fuel oil spill in the waters of the Black Sea.
For a week, the volunteers' work will consist of cleaning the coastline from highly viscous fuel oil that has solidified under the influence of low temperatures. The top layer of sand is sifted through a sieve, the remaining fuel oil is collected in construction bags with a polymer coating, after which it is taken to temporary accumulation sites.
Representatives of the environmental club and the headquarters of student teams became participants in the project.
The All-Russian student project "Your Move" together with the Federal Agency for Youth Affairs (Rosmolodezh) and the All-Russian mutual aid campaign #MYVMESTE with the support of the Ministry of Science and Higher Education of the Russian Federation is holding the All-Russian campaign "We are together - helping the sea". As part of the campaign, organization of the participation of young people as volunteers in the liquidation of the consequences of the federal emergency on the Black Sea coast is planned. Students of Gubkin University, activists of the environmental club and activists of the university's student teams are also taking part in the campaign.
