Freshman Day 2025 Results

On November 20, 2025, Gubkin University hosted a concert and awards ceremony for the winners of Freshman Day 2025 on the stage of the Gubkinets Palace of Culture. This event concluded a series of events aimed at introducing new students to university life and acclimating them to it. The culmination of the festive program brought together students, faculty, and guests to celebrate the addition to the ranks of talented Gubkin students.

The evening was filled with captivating performances showcasing the talents of first-year students. Dance groups, vocal ensembles, and theater companies presented their best pieces, reflecting the diverse interests and creative potential of the new generation of students.

The jury, which evaluated the performances, included: Vladimir Koshelev, Vice-Rector for Academic Affairs; Anton Tumanov, Vice-Rector for Youth Policy and Educational Work; Pavel Kalashnikov, Vice-Rector for Research; Alexander Komkov, Head of the Department of Scientometric Research and Publication Support; Natalya Lambina, Deputy Head of the Student Campus Department; David Petrosyan, Head of the Center for the Formation and Protection of Traditional Russian Spiritual and Moral Values ​​and Semantic Guidelines; Ekaterina Sokolnikova, Head of the Internet Information Resources Department; and Nikolai Maryasin, choreographer-tutor at the State Academic Choreographic Ensemble "Beryozka."

In 2025, the competition included six nominations, in which the best of the best were selected:

- "Theatrical Triumph" – Faculty of Engineering Mechanics;
- "Best Vocal Number" – Liu Yuhan – Faculty of Chemical Engineering and Ecology;
– "Best Dance Number" – Arina Sirotkina and Sofia Zhuikova from the Faculty of Chemical Engineering and Ecology, Ulyana Matskaya from the Faculty of Engineering Mechanics, the Crystal Ballroom Dance Studio;
– "Best Instrumental Number" – Alexandra Lytkina from the Faculty of Chemical Engineering and Ecology, Andrey Boboshko from the Faculty of Economics and Management, the Gubkin University Brass Band;
– "Best Faculty Dance" – the Faculty of Automation and Computer Engineering;
– "Best First-Year Student" – Ekaterina Drenicheva from the Faculty of Oil and Gas Field Development.

Based on the results of the "Best Faculty" competition, the places were distributed as follows:

– First place – the Faculty of Integrated Safety of the Fuel and Energy Complex;
– Second place – the Faculty of Chemical Engineering and Ecology;
– Third place – the Faculty of Oil and Gas Field Development.

The Gubkin University social media activity competition, held as part of the "Faculty Festival," was no less exciting. First-year and senior students actively supported their peers, leaving comments under posts about their presentations. The Faculty of Design and Operation of Pipeline Transport Systems emerged as the competition's leader, demonstrating unity and active support.

Meanwhile, the Faculty of Chemical Engineering and Ecology was awarded a unique and symbolic gift – a kerosene lamp – for winning the "Best Faculty Support" competition for the quality of support for their faculty, held at the V.N. Vinogradov Gubkinets Palace of Culture. The traveling kerosene lamp served as a reminder of the importance of preserving traditions and intergenerational continuity at Gubkin University.

Freshman's Day is a traditional event aimed at helping new students adapt to campus life, meet faculty and classmates, and feel part of the large and friendly Gubkin family.
