Excursion Project “Walks Around Moscow”
In the 2025/2026 academic year, the Department of the Russian Language conducted the following excursions within the framework of the “Walks Around Moscow” project for international students of the preparatory department and foreign students of the main courses:
1. “Old and Innovative Moscow: Varvarka and Zaryadye” (October 2025).
2. “Tverskaya Street: History, People and Destinies” (November 2025).
3. “Tales of Old Arbat” (December 2025).
4. “Bolshaya Nikitskaya – the World of Moscow Estates” (March 2026).
5. “Nikitsky Triangle” (May 2026).
6. “Chistye Prudy – a Mirror of Moscow” (May 2026).
7. “Golden Island” (May 2026).
8. “Tsar’s Kolomenskoye” (May 2026).
International students from Angola, Venezuela, Vietnam, China, Congo, Cuba, Mongolia, Rwanda, Syria, Mali, Chad and other countries took part in the project.
Thorough language, cultural and historical preparation conducted by the lecturers of the Department of the Russian Language — Yulia Anisina, Tatiana Volkova, Elena Guseva, Ekaterina Dvorkina, Elena Ermakova, Alina Zhivaikina, Yulia Kashenkina, Natalia Novoselova, Yulia Polyakova, Ekaterina Tolmacheva, Tatiana Filipskaya, Ekaterina Tsukanova — helped the international students to better understand the guide’s speech and grasp the historical realities of city life in each specific district visited during the excursion. The students’ preparation was carried out with the aid of the book “Walks Around Moscow for Foreigners Learning Russian”. The book was written by lecturers of the Department of the Russian Language Elena Guseva, Ekaterina Dvorkina, Ekaterina Tsukanova and published by the Publishing Centre of the National University of Oil and Gas “Gubkin University” in 2025.
Thanks to the excursions of the “Walks Around Moscow” project, the students saw Moscow with new eyes and grew fond of it. In total, nearly 120 people took part in the project.
