Youth Day at the St. Petersburg International Economic Forum

On June 6, 2026, Youth Day was held as part of the 2026 St. Petersburg International Economic Forum. The event, organized with the support of the Roscongress Foundation, aimed at engaging young professionals, students, and postgraduates in a discussion of strategic priorities for the development of the Russian economy.

The Youth Day program included a plenary session with representatives of the Russian Government, heads of state corporations, and major companies, as well as panel discussions and expert sessions on the following topics:
– "Technological Sovereignty: Challenges and Solutions";
– "Human Resources for the New Economy: Transforming Education and the Labor Market";
– "Youth Entrepreneurship and Startups";
– "Sustainable Development and the Climate Agenda";
– "Digital Transformation of Industries: Oil and Gas, Energy, and Industry."

Victoria Shchabelskaya (group MBM-24-05), a member of the student scientific society and a student in the Faculty of Engineering Mechanics at Gubkin University, participated in the event.

During the Youth Day of the St. Petersburg International Economic Forum, she attended business sessions and discussion platforms dedicated to economic development, technological sovereignty, personnel training, and the role of youth in implementing strategic projects.

She focused on the session "Technological Sovereignty in the Oil and Gas Sector: Import Substitution and Innovation" and also participated in the open discussion "Education of the Future: How to Train Engineers for the Energy Transition." Following the event, participants exchanged contacts with industry representatives and discussed internship and employment opportunities.

Representing members of the student scientific society at Gubkin University at external venues is part of the university's Student Scientific Society development program, "Strategy for New Discoveries."
