XII International (XX All-Russian) Scientific and Practical Conference "Oilfield Chemistry"
On June 25, 2025, the XII International (XX All-Russian) Scientific and Practical Conference "Oilfield Chemistry" concluded at Gubkin University. It brought together leading experts in the field of development, production and application of chemical reagents for the oil and gas industry.
The event was held as part of the program for the development of a world-class scientific center "Rational development of liquid hydrocarbon reserves of the planet". The center was created as part of the national project "Science and Universities" with the aim of developing and introducing science-intensive technologies into the country's economy that will ensure technological leadership.
The conference was attended by 155 people (in person and remotely), representing 18 educational institutions and academic institutes, as well as 40 oil, service companies and industry research institutes. The event featured 21 reports covering a wide range of current issues in oilfield chemistry.
In 2025, one of the main topics of the conference was the development and application of reagents for drilling, completion, well repair, as well as enhanced oil recovery and intensification of oil and gas production, as well as reagents for drilling, completion and well repair: innovative chemical compositions and technologies that ensure efficient and safe well operations were discussed. The development and application of modern protective materials, bactericides and corrosion inhibitors, salt deposition and paraffin deposition in the production and transportation of oil and gas, and environmental aspects of the production and application of chemical reagents in the oil and gas industry were also discussed.
The geography of the conference participants covered Russia, the Republic of Belarus, Vietnam and Serbia, which emphasizes its international status and importance for the development of the industry. The conference has become an important platform for exchanging experiences, discussing promising research areas and introducing innovative technologies in the oil and gas industry.
Following the conference, the winners of the competition for the best report were awarded memorable prizes - "Smart Owl" statuettes and books.
The best report of the conference was recognized as the presentation of Professor of the Tyumen State University Lyudmila Semikhina for covering the topic "Surface-active substances for environmentally friendly preparation of high-viscosity oils".
Among the young specialists, a graduate student of the Gubkin University Andrey Filatov was noted, who presented a report on the topic "Study of gels based on pseudo-dimeric surfactants using molecular modeling methods".
The winner of the photo contest "Beauty of Deposits" was recognized as the director of the Scientific and Educational Center "Industrial Chemistry" Lyubov Magadova with the photo work "Mascot of GRPshnikov".
