VI Geological Conference

On March 19, 2026, the VI Geological Conference was held, organized by the Student Scientific Society of the Faculty of Oil and Gas Geology and Geophysics at Gubkin Russian State University of Oil and Gas (National Research University).

During this conference, students presented the results of their scientific research. The jury members provided feedback to the presenters, which will help them improve their research papers for future research and presentations at the Oil and Gas 2026 International Forum and other conferences.

The following faculty members conducted the peer review of the papers:

– Olga Postnikova, Dean of the Faculty of Oil and Gas Geology and Geophysics, Professor of the Department of Lithology, Doctor of Geological and Mineral Sciences;
– Associate Professor of the Department of Lithology, Curator of the Student Scientific Society of the Faculty of Oil and Gas Geology and Geophysics, Candidate of Geological and Mineral Sciences. Nadezhda Kulagina;
– Associate Professor of the Oil and Gas Prospecting and Exploration Department, PhD in Geology; Alexandra Kurushina;
– Associate Professor of the General and Oil and Gas Field Geology Department, PhD in Geology; Maria Afanasyeva;
– Associate Professor of the Exploration Geophysics and Computer Systems Department, PhD in Engineering; Evgeny Varov;
– Associate Professor of the Geophysical Information Systems Department, PhD in Geology and Mineralogy; Maria Srebrodolskaya.

Based on the jury's assessments, the following students were awarded prizes:

– First place – Georgy Misetovy (group GI-23-04);
– Second place – Maria Kireeva (group GI-21-04);
– Third place – Denis Mogila (group GL-24-08).

The event was implemented as part of the Gubkin University Student Scientific Society Development Program, "Strategy for New Discoveries."
