University Student Participates in the 11th All-Russian Research Competition for Students and Postgraduates
From September 22 to 25, 2026, the 11th All-Russian Youth Scientific Forum, "Science of the Future – Science of the Young," was held at the Lobachevsky State University of Nizhny Novgorod (UNN). The event included the final round of the 11th All-Russian Research Competition for students and postgraduates.
Over the course of four days, the Lobachevsky University campus brought together approximately 700 participants from more than 20 countries, including the United Kingdom, Germany, India, Italy, France, Sweden, and Japan. Attendees included prominent Russian and international scientists, heads of laboratories established under the Russian Ministry of Education and Science’s "megagrant" program, young researchers, and representatives from government and the business sector.
The forum served as a platform for discussing pressing issues on the scientific and technological agenda—ranging from neurotechnologies and advanced materials to quantum technologies, artificial intelligence, climate research, and technological entrepreneurship.
During the conference, students and postgraduates participated in sessions covering a wide array of fields: "Agro-, Bio-, and Food Technologies," "Humanities," "Engineering Sciences," "Information Technology and Mathematics," "Life Sciences and Medicine," "Earth Sciences, Ecology, and Rational Nature Management," "Materials Science," "Social Sciences," "Physics and Astronomy," and "Chemistry and Chemical Technologies." Gubkin University was represented at the event by Alexandra Vishnevich (group XTM-25-04), a member of the Student Scientific Society and a student in the Faculty of Chemical Technology and Ecology, who delivered a presentation titled "Selective Tandem Synthesis of Olefins Using Bimetallic PdCu Catalysts." Her scientific supervision was provided by Dmitry Melnikov, an Associate Professor in the Department of Physical and Colloid Chemistry and a Candidate of Chemical Sciences.
The student expressed her gratitude for the support received from Vladimir Vinokurov, Head of the Department of Physical and Colloid Chemistry, a Professor and Doctor of Chemical Sciences.
The participation of Gubkin University Student Scientific Society members in external forums is carried out as part of the university’s Student Scientific Society development program, titled "Strategy for New Discoveries."
