University student is a gold medalist of the All-Russian student Olympiad "I am a professional" in the subject of "Oil and Gas Engineering"

On July 15, 2025, the National Center "Russia" hosted the award ceremony for the gold medalists of the eighth season of the All-Russian student Olympiad "I am a professional", among whom in the direction of "Oil and Gas Engineering" in the category "Bachelor's degree" student of the Department of Development and Operation of Oil Fields Andrey Savelyev, representing the Gubkin Russian State University of Oil and Gas (National Research University), became the gold medalist of the final stage, defending the title of one of the most intelligent students in Russia.

The All-Russian student Olympiad "I am a professional" is one of the largest and most prestigious student Olympiads in Russia. Diploma holders in all areas receive the opportunity for preferential admission to leading universities, are invited to educational events and to large companies for internships and further employment.

More than 170 Bachelor and Master’s Degree students out of 185,000 students from different universities of the country took part in the semi-final of the All-Russian student Olympiad "I am a professional" in the direction of "Oil and Gas Business".

A total of 83 participants, representing 15 universities from different Russian regions, made it to the final stage based on the number of points scored. Gubkin University entered the top three in terms of the number of participants, of which there were 10.

Students of Gubkin University became winners and prize winners in various areas of the Olympiad:
– two prize winners in the category "Master's/Specialist" and one winner in the category "Bachelor's degree" in the direction of "Ecology";
– two winners in the category "Master's/Specialist's Degree" in the direction of "Chemical Technology";
– one prize winner in the category "Master's/Specialist's Degree" in the direction of "Geology";
– three prize winners, one winner and one gold medalist in the category "Bachelor's Degree" in the direction of "Oil and Gas Engineering".

During the award ceremony, Andrey Savelyev noted that he was especially proud of his university when he saw how many of his classmates made it to the finals of the Olympiad, and he also believes that his love for sports, which trains discipline, stress resistance and composure, helped him win.
