University representatives at the opening of the international youth festival "VuzEcoFest"
On April 7, 2025, the XI International Youth Festival in the Field of Sustainable Development "VuzEcoFest-2025" started. More than 30,000 students, postgraduates and interested young people from 44 universities in Russia and the CIS countries take part in the festival events.
The festival includes scientific seminars and webinars, expert discussions, games and events that will increase public awareness of the state of the environment and the quality of life in cities, as well as expand the understanding of the festival's theme of the year: "Adaptation to the Consequences of Climate Change at the Level of Regions and Companies". In addition, representatives of the Russian Academy of Sciences, the Ministry of Economic Development of the Russian Federation, the Government of the Sakhalin Region, the Agency for Strategic Initiatives and other organizations. hold thematic webinars, the schedule of which is published in the festival group on VKontakte.
As part of the grand opening at RUDN, the following delivered welcoming remarks: RUDN Rector Oleg Yastrebov, Deputy Minister of Science and Higher Education of the Russian Federation Olga Petrova, Head of Rosprirodnadzor Svetlana Radionova, Chairman of the Public Council under the Ministry of Natural Resources of Russia Nikolay Doronin, President of the Charitable Foundation "Revival of Nature" Natalia Tornqvist. Director of the ANO "Territory of Sustainable Development". Head of the XI International Youth Festival in the Field of Sustainable Development "VuzEcoFest-2025" Anastasia Okorochkova declared the festival open and wished everyone great success, new acquaintances and victories.
In addition, environmental leaders of the community presented their reports: winner of the "Green Prize" of the PPC REO and program director of the All-Russian educational center "Ecosystem" Ekaterina Emets, as well as heads of eco-clubs of RUDN, Financial University, Plekhanov Russian University of Economics, Russian State University of Oil and Gas (National Research University) named after I.M. Gubkin, State University of Management, Buryat State University named after Dorzhi Banzarov, and Belarusian State Pedagogical University named after Maxim Tank. Curator of the environmental club and the committee for sustainable development Anna Zenovskaya gave a report on the development of the environmental club for 2022-2025.
