University Representative at the III International Conference "Products in the Digital World — 2026. Innovative Solutions in Classification and Cataloging"
From April 28 to 29, 2026, the III International Conference "Products in the Digital World — 2026. Innovative Solutions in Classification and Cataloging" was held in Minsk. It was organized by the Belarusian State Institute of Standardization and Certification jointly with the Codex Consortium.
Representatives of standardization bodies, scientific organizations, and businesses from Russia, Belarus, and Kazakhstan participated in the business program.
Aleksandr Panteleev, PhD, Associate Professor of the Department of Standardization, Certification, and Quality Management for Oil and Gas Equipment Production at Gubkin University, Corresponding Member of the Academy of Quality Problems, and General Director of NIING LLC, presented a report on "Development of a Scientific and Methodological Approach to Automated Classification and Determination of Regulatory Requirements for Oil and Gas Products."
The report presents an original mathematical model that, for the first time, links five independent classification systems for oil and gas products—OKPD2, OKS, STO, GOST, and TU—into a single formalized structure based on semantic analysis and graph methods. The practical value of this work lies in solving three pressing industry problems: automated product code determination, the development of a regulatory framework for each code, and the search for domestic equivalents of foreign equipment for import substitution purposes. Of particular note is the model's ability to objectively identify structural gaps in the current OKPD2 classifier, where critical types of oil and gas equipment still lack their own codes and are forced into the anonymous "other" category.
