University Delegation at the Caspian Pipeline Consortium’s Leadership Summit and Safety Day

On September 8–9, 2026, the Caspian Pipeline Consortium (CPC) held its Leadership Summit on Developing a Safety Culture and Safety Day in Astana, Republic of Kazakhstan. The event was attended by approximately 600 guests and representatives from 28 teams comprising CPC units, contractors, and partner companies.

Gubkin University was represented by Nikita Golunov, Vice-Rector for Continuing Professional Education and Head of the Department of Gas and Oil Pipeline Design and Operation (head of the delegation); Alexey Vikhrov, Associate Professor at the Department of Industrial Safety and Environmental Protection (accompanying faculty member); and a student team from the Department of Industrial Safety and Environmental Protection: Lalya Nurieva (team captain), Anna Varlamova, Alina Sokolova, Anastasia Tretyakova, Valeria Trikhonovich, and Liliya Tsopanova (group MBM-25-05), as well as Vyacheslav Vlasenko and Ivan Zykov (group MBM-26-05).

On September 8, 2026, the Leadership Summit on Developing a Safety Culture took place under the motto "Trust is the Best Foundation." Approximately 130 directors and executives discussed approaches to ensuring a shared understanding of safety culture values ​​and analyzed leadership tools regarding occupational health, industrial safety, and environmental protection. During the event, Nikita Golunov familiarized himself with the company's current agenda regarding safety culture and discussed key areas of cooperation between the university and the company in the field of continuing professional education. On September 9, 2026—marking the 30th anniversary of the CPC—the 14th Safety Day took place. The competition program focused on the eight primary goals of the company’s strategic plan for occupational health, industrial safety, and environmental protection, featuring contests across key areas: occupational health, industrial safety, incident investigation, first aid, emergency response, and environmental responsibility. As the youngest team, the Gubkin students represented their university with distinction, securing third place in the overall team standings, as well as third place in both the "Transport Challenge" and "Safety Foundation" competitions, while gaining unforgettable experiences and receiving valuable prizes.

The delegation expressed its gratitude to the university and company leadership for the opportunity to participate and exchange experience.
