The youth scientific and technical conference of the CIS countries "We are the future of the XXI century" was held at Gubkin University

On November 28-30, 2018 Gubkin University hosted the youth scientific and technical conference of the CIS countries on oil and gas "We are the future of the XXI century".

The conference was attended by over 200 students and young professionals specialized in oil and gas from the CIS countries. The event was held with the support of the Russian Federal Agency for Youth Affairs and the Youth Council of the Oil and Gas Industry under the Ministry of Energy of the Russian Federation.

The Deputy Minister for Energy of the Russian Federation Pavel Sorokin, the Rector of Gubkin University Viktor Martynov, leading scientists and specialists from industrial universities and professional associations spoke at the plenary session on the issues of digitization of engineering education.

The conference continued for three days and the program included interactive contests to rally teams, trainings for the development of personal and professional competencies, and panel discussions on the following thematic blocks:

- Current issues of improving the quality of oil and gas education in the CIS countries. The shortage of engineering and technical personnel – the problem of the XXI century.
- Information technology in industry and the introduction of youth developments in production.
- Career opportunities for graduates from oil and gas universities of the CIS countries.

The Deputy Chairman of the KAZENERGY Association Uzakbai Karabalin, the Rector of Kazakh-British Technical University Kenzhebek Ibrashev, the Chief Executive Director of the KTIB Holding, the Deputy Director of the Department of economy cooperation of Executive Committee of the Commonwealth of Independent States Aladdin Kuli-Zade and the Head of the International Affairs Office at Gubkin University Oleg Isaev made presentations at the final session “Cooperation of the CIS countries in the oil and gas industry: youth, education, technology”.

In the second part of the event, the defense of team projects took place. Based on the results, the Internationale team with the initiative “Opportunities for dual education offered by universities in the CIS countries” became the winner. The conference was closed by the lecture delivered by the Deputy Chairman of the KAZENERGY Association Uzakbai Karabalin.

In addition, the conference participants were offered to compete in an intellectual game, take a tour around Moscow, participate in a fair of cultures and dishes of the world, as well as attend a special concert.
