The 24th All-Russian Student Olympiad in Petroleum Chemistry
From November 20 to 23, 2025, the Department of Organic and Petroleum Chemistry at Gubkin Russian State University of Oil and Gas (National Research University) hosted the 24th All-Russian Student Olympiad in Petroleum Chemistry, dedicated to the 95th anniversary of Professor V.D. Ryabov's birth. Gubkin University students took first place in both individual and team competitions.
Twenty-four participants from seven universities competed for the top spots: Lobachevsky State University of Nizhny Novgorod (National Research University), Lobachevsky State University (National Research University), and the Ministry of Agriculture and Natural Resources of the Russian Federation. Lobachevsky, Saint Petersburg Mining University of Empress Catherine II, Russian Technical University MIREA, Irkutsk Polytechnic University, North Ossetian State University named after Kosta Levanovich Khetagurov, Astrakhan State University, and Gubkin Russian State University of Oil and Gas (National Research University).
Winners of the 24th All-Russian Student Olympiad in Petroleum Chemistry, dedicated to the 95th anniversary of Professor V.D. Ryabov's birth:
1. Individual competition:
– First place – Gubkin Russian State University of Oil and Gas (National Research University) student Zaur Baskayev;
– Second place – Lobachevsky State University of Nizhny Novgorod student Ksenia Shiyrova and Gubkin Russian State University of Oil and Gas (National Research University) student Vladislav Galimov;
– Third place – Gubkin Russian State University of Oil and Gas (National Research University) student Gubkin University's Kristian Azarov and Lobachevsky State University of Nizhny Novgorod students Ilya Shmyrov and Yulia Smirnova.
2. Team Competition:
– First place – Gubkin Russian State University of Oil and Gas (NRU);
– Second place – Lobachevsky State University of Nizhny Novgorod;
– Third place – Russian Technical University MIREA.
Several participants were awarded certificates for their original solutions to individual Olympiad problems.
