Screening of the documentary film "Russia – Laboratory of Peace"

On February 19, 2026, a screening of the documentary film "Russia – Laboratory of Peace" was held in the assembly hall of the A.S. Oganov Offshore Drilling Center. The film was organized by the student scientific society as part of events dedicated to Russian Science Day, celebrated annually on February 8, with the support of the Ministry of Science and Higher Education of the Russian Federation.

The documentary, produced with the support of the Ministry of Education and Science of Russia specifically for Russian Science Day, tells the story of successful scientists who have chosen Russia as the site for their research. The film features both Russian researchers (from St. Petersburg, Moscow, Apatity, Sochi, Kazan, Chelyabinsk, and Novosibirsk) who have returned home after working at research centers abroad, as well as foreign specialists from other countries. The film aims to motivate aspiring researchers to consider scientific work as an attractive path to professional development and demonstrates the diversity of opportunities available to young people in the Russian scientific community.

During the film, viewers were introduced to a wide range of modern scientific research and cutting-edge developments – from fundamental areas of physics, chemistry, and mathematics to applied problems in biology, medicine, and space exploration. The film focused on work in physics and optics, electrochemistry, mineralogy, mathematics, and computer science, including numerical optimization methods, artificial intelligence and machine learning, as well as developments in electronics and software engineering.

Those who were unable to watch the film at the event can watch it on the official Rutube channel of the Russian Ministry of Education and Science.

The film screening was part of the "Strategy for New Discoveries" program for the development of the Gubkin University Student Scientific Society.
