Members of the University's Student Scientific Society at the IX International Youth Scientific Conference "Tatarstan UpExPro 2025"
From April 10 to 13, 2025, the IX International Youth Scientific Conference "Tatarstan UpExPro 2025" was held at Kazan (Volga Region) Federal University. Gubkin University was represented at the venues by students from various faculties.
From April 10 to 13, 2025, the Institute of Geology and Oil and Gas Technologies became a place of attraction for more than 250 students and postgraduates from 35 cities in Russia and neighboring countries.
The conference included presentations, a job fair, the final of the Tatarstan UpExPro 2025 case championship, educational lectures, intellectual games and a technical case from Schlumberger.
Students of Gubkin University actively participated in all conference events.
The main stage of the conference was held on April 11, 2025. The following students presented their research papers:
– Faculty of Geology and Geophysics of Oil and Gas: Maria Karaseva (group GI-21-04) with a research paper on the topic "Practical application of the algorithm for determining the angle of incidence of a formation during its partial opening by a horizontal well based on data from azimuthal scanning geophysical logging tools while drilling", scientific supervisor - senior lecturer of the Department of Geophysical Information Systems, PhD Maria Srebrodolskaya;
– Faculty of Oil and Gas Field Development: Maxim Iova (group RF-22-09) with a report on the topic "Solving Differential Equations in the Field of Hydromechanics Using Neural Networks", scientific supervisor - Associate Professor of the Department of Oil and Gas and Underground Hydromechanics, PhD Marina Kravchenko; Roland Aglullin (group RNM-23-11) made a report on the topic "Application of the PEXEL algorithm for automated adaptation of hydrodynamic models of fields", scientific supervisor - Associate Professor of the Department (basic) of Modeling of Physical and Technological Processes of Field Development, PhD Farida Khismatullina;
– Faculty of Design, Construction and Operation of Pipeline Transport Systems: Aleksey Nizhegorodov (group TNM-24-05) with the work on the topic "Mathematical modeling of closing a linear valve in a main oil pipeline equipped with pumps with frequency regulation of drives", scientific supervisor - associate professor of the department of design and operation of gas and oil pipelines, PhD Mikhail Fedoseyev, according to the assessment of the expert commission, Aleksey Nizhegorodov was awarded a first degree diploma;
– Faculty of Engineering Mechanics: Yong Seung Yamamoto (group MTM-24-03) took third place for the presented work on the topic "System for continuous monitoring of oil and gas structures using 3D leak control sensors" under the supervision of the scientific supervisor - head of the department of tribology and technology of repair of oil and gas equipment, professor, DSc, Oksana Elagina;
– Faculty of Chemical Engineering and Ecology: Anna Golimblevskaya (group ХТМ-23-02) was awarded a third-degree diploma for her report on the topic of "Increasing the production of styrene obtained by dehydrogenation of ethylbenzene", scientific supervisor - Associate Professor of the Department of Gas Chemistry, PhD Igor Meshcherin; Anna Karsukova (group ХТ-21-02) made a presentation on the topic of "The influence of a temperature-regulating coating based on encapsulated paraffin on the temperature of gasoline vapors during cyclic heating and cooling in a model experiment" (scientific supervisors - leading researcher of the Department of Physical and Colloid Chemistry Dmitry Kopitsyn and Denis Voronin);
– postgraduate student of the Department of Physical and Colloid Chemistry Egor Abramov (group XTA-24-01) made a report on the topic "Ni- and Pt-containing catalysts based on hydrophobized halloysite nanotubes for hydrodeoxygenation of bio-oil components", scientific supervisor - leading researcher of the Department of Physical and Colloid Chemistry, PhD Alexander Glotov; postgraduate student of the Department of Oil and Gas Processing Equipment Ekaterina Kuznetsova (group XTA-24-02) also took an active part in the conference.
As part of the case championship, Gubkin University was represented by four students of the Faculty of Oil and Gas Field Development, who managed to take first place: Tomila Mazhrenova (group RNM-24-05), Danila Pakhomov, Alina Chueva, Vladimir Fayzylov (group RNM-24-09).
In the framework of the economically-oriented intellectual game "Carbonate Deposits", student of the group RF-22-09 Maxim Iova also took first place.
Also, the participation of representatives of the International Committee of the Student Scientific Committee of Gubkin University Ilya Kostrov (group KO-22-14), Elizaveta Gorelova (group HT-22-07) and Alexander Bebikov (group RG-23-08) in the IX International Youth Scientific Conference "Tatarstan UpExPro 2025" became an important stage in their professional development. As part of the event, they actively participated in the scientific program, presenting their research at sectional meetings. They were also introduced to cutting-edge developments in the field of oil and gas geology and geophysics. Students solved real-life cases from Schlumberger, attended lectures from leading experts, studied modern equipment in the laboratories of KFU and exhibits of the geological museum.
Students of Gubkin University actively participated in all events of the conference, attended educational lectures and represented Gubkin University with distinction throughout the conference.
