Members of the student scientific society at the international scientific and practical student conference "Current issues of modern legal science and practice"

On May 22, 2025, the international scientific and practical student conference "Current issues of modern legal science and practice" was held at the Faculty of Law of the National Research University of Nizhny Novgorod named after N.I. Lobachevsky.

The event brought together students, master's degree students and postgraduates from various universities of the Russian Federation: Gubkin Russian State University of Oil and Gas (NRU), Lobachevsky State University of Nizhny Novgorod, MGIMO of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Russia, Kutafin Moscow State Law University, the Academy of the Federal Penitentiary Service, Irkutsk State University, GUU, NI TSU, VolSU, IKBFU, RUDN University, as well as from universities of the Republic of Belarus.

The welcoming speech was given by the Deputy Dean of the Faculty of Law for Research at the Lobachevsky State University of Nizhny Novgorod, Professor, Doctor of Law Marina Baranova.

As part of the conference, students took part in the sections "International Legal Sciences" and "Public Legal Sciences". Gubkin University was represented at the event by members of the student scientific society, students of the faculty of integrated security of the fuel and energy complex Olga Guseva (group KM-21-15) with a report on the topic of "Crimes of Unit 731 and the importance of the Khabarovsk Tribunal for the development of international law", Daria Volkova (group KM-22-18) with a report on the topic of "International legal aspects of the fight against terrorism and measures to prevent its financing", Nikita Anikin (group KM-22-18) with a report on the topic of "Problems of the status of private military companies in the framework of international law", Artem Artezhitov (group KM-22-18) with a report on the topic of "Economic security and human rights in the modern digital world", Egor Bezverkhiy (group KM-22-17) with a report on the topic of "Iran-Iraq War (1980-1988). International Legal Aspects", and also a student of the Faculty of Law Ekaterina Polezhaeva (group YUG-22-02) with a report on the topic of "Features of administrative proceedings on control (supervision) in the field of ecology".

Following the conference, Artem Arzhevitov took second place, Nikita Anikin took third place, Olga Guseva won in the nomination "Oratory skills", Egor Bezverkhiy was recognized as the most active participant in the section "International Legal Sciences". In the section "Public Legal Sciences" Ekaterina Polezhaeva took third place.

Associate Professor of the Department of Public and International Legal Support of National Security Mikhail Smirnov was responsible for the scientific preparation of the team.
