Members of the Student Scientific Society at the 6th International Oil and Gas Youth Forum

From July 10 to 16, 2025, the 6th International Oil and Gas Youth Forum was held at the Almetyevsk State Technological University "Higher School of Oil" in Almetyevsk, in which members of the Student Scientific Society of Gubkin University took part.

The event brought together students, master's students and postgraduates from various universities of the Russian Federation, including: Gubkin Russian State University of Oil and Gas (National Research University), Immanuel Kant Baltic Federal University, RUDN University, as well as from universities of the Republic of Belarus, the Republic of Uzbekistan, Qatar and Serbia.

The following trainings were held for the forum participants: "Team Building", a foresight session "A View from the Future", master classes "Personally about the Public", "AI for Solving Business Problems", a lecture "Why Choose the Oil Industry: Energy, Career, Future", a master class "How to Sell Your Idea". All master classes were aimed at preparing the participants to defend their work as part of the Hackathon "TEK 2050".

The participants also competed in the mini-tournament "Time of the First" and the business simulation "Battle of Corporations", which were aimed at uniting teams and acquiring business planning and strategic thinking skills.

The main event of the forum was the hackathon "TEK 2050". As part of this case championship, all participants were divided into 40 teams of six people each. The teams were formed by the forum organizers.

Gubkin University student Vasily Solodov (group RF-21-09) took part in the team development of the solution for case #14 "Oil treatment unit with "zero" greenhouse gas emissions". Acting as the project manager, the student took part in the development of two concepts for upgrading the presented unit to minimize greenhouse gas emissions. Thanks to the integrated approach to solving the problem, the team made it to the final, and all its participants were noted by the creators of the case as competent specialists and received an invitation to undergo an internship and employment at PJSC Tatneft. Vasily Solodov was also nominated for a cash prize for developing and proposing a concept for the development of an innovative solution in the field of oil treatment.

Liya Gildanova (group RN-21-05) acted as a technical specialist in the team, presenting the solution to the case "Digital Patrol: creation of an intelligent control system for the energy efficiency of oil equipment". Thanks to the high-quality development of the project, the team successfully made it to the final.
