Members of the Student Scientific Society at the 3rd International Geological Championship "Geovyzov"
The 3rd International Geological Championship "Geovyzov" was held in Ufa from September 7 to 17, 2025. Gubkin University was represented at the event by a team of members of the Student Scientific Society of the Faculty of Oil and Gas Geology and Geophysics.
Representatives of the Federal Agency for Subsoil Use and its subordinate organizations, the Government of the Republic of Bashkortostan, and specialists from the Institute of Geology of the Ufa Federal Research Center of the Russian Academy of Sciences served as members of the championship organizing committee.
Thirty-eight teams participated in the championship: 22 representing various educational institutions in Russia, three teams from the CIS, and 13 teams from various countries.
The Gubkin University team included Elina Zaripova (group GI-23-04), Anastasia Doroshenko (group GF-23-03), Alexander Abramov (group GR-24-02), Daria Mikhailova (group GM-23-11), Kamilla Safina (group GL-24-08), and Angelina Strigina (group GM-23-11).
The team leader was Daniil Bazeev, an assistant professor in the Department of General and Oil and Gas Geology.
Following the opening ceremony, a ten-day program of competitions, excursions, and recreational activities was organized for the championship participants.
Anastasia Doroshenko and Alexander Abramov achieved the best result among all Russian universities in the "Oil and Gas" competition, finishing second in the international standings only to the teams from China (first place) and Uzbekistan (second place).
Elina Zaripova took third place in the "Plate Sampling" competition, demonstrating high precision and accuracy in washing the concentrate, identifying, and describing the resulting mineral sample under a binocular microscope.
Members of the Gubkin University Student Scientific Society are being represented at external venues through a federal budget subsidy to higher education institutions for the implementation of activities aimed at supporting student scientific communities, as part of the university's Student Scientific Society development program, "Unifying Science: From Popularization to Practice."
