Member of the Student Scientific Society at the IX All-Russian Scientific Conference "Actual Problems of Theory and Practice of Heterogeneous Catalysts and Adsorbents"

From July 1 to July 3, 2025, the IX All-Russian Scientific Conference (with international participation) "Actual Problems of Theory and Practice of Heterogeneous Catalysts and Adsorbents" was held in Ples (Ivanovo Region). The conference was organized by: Ivanovo State University of Chemical Technology; Boreskov Institute of Catalysis SB RAS; Department of Chemistry and Materials Science RAS; Frumkin Institute of Physical Chemistry and Electrochemistry RAS; Yaroslavl State Technical University.

The scientific program of the conference included oral and poster presentations on the results of theoretical and experimental studies in the field of adsorption and catalysis. The conference was attended by both students and postgraduates from various universities, as well as scientists with extensive experience.

The first day of the conference began with plenary reports from authoritative Russian scientists and young researchers, and ended with the "Youth School-Conference: Poster Session". On the second day, the main guest of the meeting was a member of the International Association of Journalists and the European Association of Science Journalists, vice-president of the NP "Assistance to Chemical and Environmental Education", editor-in-chief of the journal "Chemistry and Life", PhD in Chemistry Lyubov Strelnikova, who gave a lecture on the topic "How Discoveries Happen". The second day of the conference ended with a boat ride along the Volga.

On the third day of the conference, the participants presented their reports. On this day, a member of the Gubkin University Student Scientific Society, a master's student of the XTM-24-03 group, Evgeny Yurkin, presented his work on the topic "Platinum-palladium catalysts based on ordered mesoporous silicon oxides of the M41S family for hydrogenation of bicyclic aromatic compounds" (scientific supervisor - leading researcher of the Department of Physical and Colloid Chemistry, PhD Alexander Glotov).

At the closing of the conference, words of gratitude were expressed to the participants and organizers. The high level of the conference was noted, within the framework of which not only a scientific, but also a cultural program was organized, which allowed the participants to make new acquaintances during informal communication and agree on joint scientific research.
