International Student Congress "The Age of Law"

From December 12 to 14, 2025, the International Student Congress "The Age of Law" was held at St. Petersburg State University.

The event brought together undergraduate, graduate, and doctoral students from leading Russian universities, including Lomonosov Moscow State University, Kutafin Moscow State Law University (MSAL), MGIMO University, St. Petersburg State University, HSE University, Ural State Law University, and the Financial University, as well as from universities in Penza, Ufa, Tula, Kazan, Saratov, Novosibirsk, Voronezh, and many other cities. Representatives from international educational institutions, including Yanka Kupala State University (Belarus) and Shanghai Jiao Tong University (China), also participated.

Vladislav Arkhipov, Professor, Doctor of Law, and Chairman of the Congress Organizing Committee, Head of the Department of History and Theory of State and Law at St. Petersburg State University, addressed the participants with a welcoming speech.

As part of the scientific program, students presented their research in the "Criminal Law" section. Gubkin Russian State University of Oil and Gas (NRU) was represented at the event by students from the Faculty of Integrated Fuel and Energy Security and members of the Student Scientific Society, Alina Ivanova and Yasmina Musaeva (group KB-24-12), who presented a paper on "Criminal Legal Assessment of Unauthorized Surveillance Using Digital Technologies (Doxing, Trackers, Spyware)."

In addition to the competition program, two master classes by leading experts were organized for congress participants: "Personal Data Consulting" (speaker: Yuri Nadezhin, attorney, personal data protection practice at EPAM Law Firm) and "From Intern to Partner: How to Build a Career in the Legal Business" (EPAM Law Firm).

Yevgeny Vlasov, senior lecturer in the Department of Public and International Legal Support for National Security, was responsible for the students' academic training. The students expressed their sincere gratitude to him for his professional guidance and comprehensive support.

Representation of members of the Gubkin University Student Scientific Society at external venues is being implemented through a federal budget subsidy to higher education institutions for the implementation of activities aimed at supporting student scientific communities as part of the university's Student Scientific Society Development Program, "Unifying Science: From Popularization to Practice."
