International School of Student Scientific Societies 2025

From September 10 to 12, 2025, the International School of Student Scientific Societies 2025 was held at Lomonosov Moscow State University in Moscow. Representatives from Gubkin Russian State University of Oil and Gas (National Research University) also participated.

The school's main objective is to provide methodological and expert training to curators, leaders, and activists of university student scientific societies for the new academic year. The focus is on increasing the participation of student scientific society members in projects that align with priority areas of Russia's scientific and technological development.

Gubkin University was represented at the school by Ivan Vanchugov, Head of the Department for Youth Science and Scientific Events, Ruslan Shapovalov, Chairman of the Student Scientific Society (Group RG-22-07), and Timofey Sokirka, a member of the Student Scientific Society (Group TP-23-02). Ivan Vanchugov and Ruslan Shapovalov served as experts and invited speakers at a session dedicated to grant support for student scientific societies. They detailed the development program for the Gubkin University Student Scientific Society and its implementation stages. This program formed the basis for the application submitted to the IV Student Scientific Society Competition of the Russian Ministry of Education and Science, in which the Gubkin University Student Scientific Society won a grant of five million rubles, receiving the highest expert rating among other winners in this category. Ivan Vanchugov discussed the most successful practices for building effective interaction between the student scientific society and the university's departments and the importance of systematizing work for the implementation of large-scale projects. Ruslan Shapovalov discussed how work within the organization is structured to achieve the goals set in the competition project.

Ekaterina Zimakova, Curator of the Student Scientific Society and Head of the Department for Organization and Methodological Support of Work with Talented Youth at Lomonosov Moscow State University; Ali Asadov, Deputy Director of the Department of State Policy in Scientific and Technological Development at the Russian Ministry of Education and Science; Alexey Shaitan, Corresponding Member of the Russian Academy of Sciences, Professor in the Department of Bioengineering, Faculty of Biology, Lomonosov Moscow State University, and Doctor of Physical and Mathematical Sciences; and Alina Pavlova, Head of Department at the Directorate of Scientific and Technical Programs and Coordinator for the Central Federal District of the Coordinating Council for Youth Affairs in Science and Education of the Presidential Council for Science and Education also took part in the events. The program included various training sessions, workshops, lectures by guest experts, and project work.
