Gubkin University Students at the St. Petersburg International Legal Forum

Representatives of Gubkin University participated in the St. Petersburg International Legal Forum, which was held from June 23 to 27, 2026, in St. Petersburg.

The forum included an expert session entitled "Subsoil: Property or Sovereignty? Three Gaps Between Law and Reality." The discussion was moderated by Vitaly Melgunov, Head of the Department of Mining, Land, and Environmental Law at Gubkin University. The event focused on current issues in subsoil use, the codification of industry legislation, and finding a balance between the public interests of the state and the economic interests of business.

Students from the Faculty of Economics and Management at Gubkin Russian State University of Oil and Gas (National Research University) also participated in the forum:

Visiting expert platforms of this level is an important part of the professional development of future specialists. Students were able to gain a detailed understanding of the current legal agenda and trends in the development of modern law.

Representing Gubkin University's Student Scientific Society members at external venues is part of the "Strategy for New Discoveries" program for the development of the university's student scientific society.
