Gubkin University presented its developments in the new issue of the "Energy of the Future" bulletin.

The sixth issue of the information and analytical bulletin of the "Energy of the Future" scientific and educational consortium has been published. Leading Russian universities presented their current technological competencies and innovative projects. Gubkin Russian State University of Oil and Gas (NRU) traditionally played a key role in the issue, demonstrating unique developments in petroleum product testing and aviation fuel production technology.

The bulletin, initiated by the Federal State Budgetary Institution "REA" of the Ministry of Energy of Russia in collaboration with the publication "Fuel Digest," brings together materials from the consortium's member universities: Gubkin University, National Research University "MPEI," Plekhanov Russian University of Economics, MGIMO University, and the Financial University. The publication covers key trends in the fuel and energy sector, technological breakthroughs, management decisions, and personnel issues in the industry.

The technological solutions included in the "New Technologies" section include developments by the Center of Excellence for Approval and Testing of Petroleum Products at Gubkin University, headed by Marina Lobashova, Associate Professor of the Department of Oil Refining Technology and PhD in Engineering. The key projects in this issue include:

1. Engine-based fuel testing methods – using rigs with Mercedes-Benz M102, VAZ 21126, ZMZ 51432.10 CRS, and Kipor KM107F engines, original methods have been developed to assess the tendency of gasoline and diesel fuels to form deposits and injector fouling, as well as their impact on power performance, exhaust gas toxicity, and fuel consumption. Some of the methods have no direct foreign equivalents.

2. A study of the TS-1 fuel quality demonstrated the feasibility of maintaining the crystallization onset temperature within the GOST 10227 requirements (not exceeding minus 60°C) when mixing the hydrodemercaptanized component with the hydrocracking component in the optimal ratio. The results have been implemented into the industrial process at Slavneft-YANOS PJSC and approved by the State Research Institute of Civil Aviation and the 25th State Research Institute.

In addition to the technological section, the bulletin includes analytical materials on management models in the energy sector, industry development prospects, an overview of legislative changes, and information on professional development programs for fuel and energy sector specialists.
