Gubkin University Participates in the Annual Student Forum for Information Security and IT Majors (GIS STUDENT DAY 2026)
On October 1, 2026, the annual student forum for information security and IT majors (GIS STUDENT DAY 2026) took place at the MTS Live Hall in St. Petersburg. Organized by Gazinformservice LLC, the event was held as part of the broader GISDAYS 2026 forum dedicated to information security and information technology.
The event brought together students, young professionals, experts, and representatives from leading companies in the IT and information security sectors. The program featured workshops, CTF competitions, activities at the "Cyberarena" cyber range, and opportunities to network with employers. The forum focused on the professional development of young people and career-start opportunities in the fields of information technology and cybersecurity.
Gubkin University was represented at the event by Roman Smirnov (Group KS-23-18), a student at the Faculty of Integrated Security of the Fuel and Energy Complex (Department of Integrated Security of Critical Facilities), and Dmitry Pravikov, Head of the Department of Integrated Security of Critical Facilities.
Throughout the forum, Roman Smirnov staffed the university’s information booth, introducing participants and prospective students to admission and study opportunities at Gubkin University. Special emphasis was placed on the training of specialists in integrated and information security, opportunities for research and project work, and student professional development.
Participation in the forum provided an opportunity to introduce an interested audience to Gubkin University and its educational offerings. The information booth helped promote the training of specialists in the security of critical infrastructure and strengthened the university's presence within the professional IT and information security community.
Showcasing members of the Gubkin University Student Scientific Society at external venues is carried out as part of the Society’s development program, "Strategy of New Discoveries."
