Gubkin University hosted the All-Russian Scientific Conference “Innovative Development of LNG Technologies”

On 20 September 2019, Gubkin University with the support of the National Chamber of Engineers (Association of Engineers of the Russian Federation) hosted the All-Russian Scientific Conference “Innovative Development of LNG Technologies”.

The conference was opened by the Rector of Gubkin University Viktor Martynov, who emphasized the relevance of the development and application of national LNG technologies. The conference participants were also welcomed by the Member of the Committee on Economic Policy at the Federation Council of the Federal Assembly of the Russian Federation Yury Vazhenin and the Head of Gazprom Transgaz Yekaterinburg Alexey Kryukov.

During the first session, the participants discussed the experience of LNG production in Russia, the competitiveness of Russian Arctic LNG projects, the methods for assessing the complexity index, the production chain and their competitive strength, as well as the prospects for applying GMR technology in LNG projects of Gazprom Group.

In addition, the conference participants discussed the development of regulatory and technical support for large-scale production of liquefied natural gas, the regulation of the composition of the mixed refrigerant in small-capacity LNG plants depending on external conditions, as well as presented the projects of small-scale production of LNG implemented by Gazprom Group.

Over 60 representatives from various companies, including Rosneft, LUKOIL, Yamal LNG, NIPIGAZ, Gazprom Group subsidiaries participated in the event. The participants noted the relevance of the technical and technological aspects of the conference and the need for organizing such events on a regular basis.
