Gubkin University at the 14th International Exhibition and Conference on Development of Oil and Gas Resources of the Russian Arctic and the Continental Shelf of the CIS Countries

On 1-5 October 2019, the 14th International Exhibition and Conference on Development of Oil and Gas Resources of the Russian Arctic and the Continental Shelf of the CIS Countries was held in St. Petersburg, Russia. Gubkin University students and faculty members from the Department of Offshore Oil and Gas Field Development participated in the event.

The Conference was organized by the Government of the Russian Federation, the Ministry of Energy of the Russian Federation, Gazprom, Rosneft, Kurchatov Institute, Gazprom VNIIGAZ.

The goal of the event was the development of social, creative, logical and mathematical intelligence of young people. The Conference has been held since 1993 as a leading national platform for discussion of the issues of development of the Arctic continental shelf resources, the use of the latest technologies in this area.

The event program included various format activities, such as group trainings, panel discussions and meetings with the leaders and experts in oil and gas, nuclear and IT industries.

Master’s and PhD degree students from Gubkin University took part in the youth session, which aimed to work on a case study for designing a concept for the development of the northern sea route, taking into account the development of resources of the Arctic shelf and the Far East of Russia.
