First Day of the International Forum "Oil and Gas – 2026"

On April 21, 2026, the first day of the International Forum "Oil and Gas – 2026" took place at Gubkin Russian State University of Oil and Gas (National Research University).

The first day of the forum opened with an exhibition showcasing developments by university scientists and relevant companies in the fuel and energy sector. During the exhibition, companies and representatives of Gubkin Russian State University of Oil and Gas (National Research University) showcased their achievements and developments in the fuel and energy sector.

As part of the forum's grand opening events, a strategic panel session on "The Unified Fuel and Energy Complex System as a Key Factor in Ensuring Industry Competitiveness and Creating Conditions for Innovation" was held. Alexey Kulapin, Director of the Russian Energy Agency of the Russian Ministry of Energy, moderated the session.

– Nikolay Gorban, General Director of Caspian Pipeline Consortium-R; – Alexandra Yakovleva, Deputy General Director for Strategic Development and Transformation of Gazstroyprom;
– Mikhail Konstantinov, First Vice President of Bank GPB (JSC) and General Director of ETP GPB LLC;
– Nikita Golunov, Vice Rector for Continuing Professional Education at Gubkin Russian State University of Oil and Gas (National Research University);
– Mikhail Myskin, Director of the Economic Cooperation Department of the CIS Executive Committee;
– Andrey Solovyov, Head of the Department of Innovative and Scientific-Technical Development at PJSC Transneft.

At the strategic panel session, a cooperation agreement was signed between the Gubkin Russian State University of Oil and Gas (National Research University) and the Moscow City Center for Professional and Career Development.

One of the main events of the day was the opening of the 80th International Youth Scientific Conference "Oil and Gas." The conference aims to discuss modern achievements in oil and gas science and technology, identify key areas of scientific research, and discover and support promising research conducted by young scientists.

The conference covered a wide range of topics: geological exploration and field development, transportation, storage, and processing of hydrocarbon feedstock, petrochemicals, automation of production processes, industrial and environmental safety, and engineering training for the industry.

Young researchers presented reports highlighting cutting-edge methods and the results of their work aimed at creating competitive domestic technologies. The experts noted the high level of the materials presented and the students' interest in addressing pressing issues in the oil and gas sector.

The "Computer Engineering and Technological Modeling" championship also concluded, where teams tackled a problem involving the use of modern simulation software packages to address oil and gas industry challenges.
