Day Three of the International Forum "Oil and Gas – 2026"
On April 23, 2026, the third day of the International Forum "Oil and Gas – 2026" took place at the Gubkin Russian State University of Oil and Gas (National Research University).
The forum program included a strategy game, a lecture, and workshops, during which participants addressed oil and gas company management challenges, discussed the relationship between fundamental and applied science, and demonstrated the operation and presented case studies of using Russian EcoRouter network equipment for critical information infrastructure facilities in the fuel and energy sector.
The breakout sessions of the 80th International Youth Scientific Conference "Oil and Gas – 2026" have concluded. The conference covered a wide range of topics, including geological exploration and production of oil and gas, transportation, storage, and processing of hydrocarbons, as well as petrochemicals, industrial automation, industrial and environmental safety, and the training of engineers for this field.
Young scientists presented papers presenting innovative approaches and the results of their research aimed at creating competitive domestic technologies. Experts praised the quality of these papers and emphasized the serious interest of undergraduate and graduate students in solving pressing problems in the oil and gas industry.
Panel sessions were held at the 19th All-Russian Scientific and Technical Conference "Current Issues in the Development of the Russian Oil and Gas Complex." Experts and scientists from oil and gas companies, industry research and design institutes, and higher and secondary vocational educational institutions exchanged experiences and discussed the challenges of implementing advanced scientific developments in the industry. Six panel sessions addressed a wide range of issues, from oil and gas exploration, prospecting, and development to current issues in education at oil and gas universities.
The 6th Moscow International Forum "Energy Security. The Eurasian Scenario" was held to analyze current energy security challenges in Eurasia. The event was timed to coincide with Remembrance Day for Victims of Radiation Accidents and Disasters, established on the anniversary of the Chernobyl Nuclear Power Plant accident.
At the finals of the 10th All-Russian Competition "Best Student Scientific Society in the Fuel and Energy Complex of Russia," participants from various universities across the country represented their scientific societies, shared best practices, and defended projects related to the competition's theme, "Energy of Unity: Regional Energy Integration and Development of Isolated Systems."
Environmental issues were also discussed at the roundtable discussion "Environmental Well-Being – the Path to Sustainable Development" at the Oil and Gas 2026 International Forum. The roundtable focused on current environmental and sustainable development issues, with an emphasis on finding practical solutions and fostering collaboration between the educational environment, companies, government agencies, and environmental organizations.
