"Day of the Future": Youth Day at the 11th Eastern Economic Forum

On September 4, 2026, "Day of the Future"—the Youth Day of the 11th Eastern Economic Forum—took place at Far Eastern Federal University in Vladivostok.

The event was held on the campus of Far Eastern Federal University on Russky Island in Vladivostok, bringing together over 9,300 participants from 78 countries. The forum’s central theme was "The Far East: Development for the Benefit of People." The Eastern Economic Forum united representatives from government, business, academia, and the expert community from dozens of countries around the world.

Yury Trutnev, Deputy Prime Minister of the Russian Federation and Presidential Plenipotentiary Envoy to the Far Eastern Federal District, delivered welcoming remarks.

The Youth Day program featured discussions and lectures on entrepreneurship, technology, career development, and the growth of the Far East.

During the forum, students participated in several sessions, including:

– "The Eastern Vector of the Russian Gas Industry: A Sustainable Development Strategy," where experts discussed prospects for gasification in the Far East, the development of gas transport infrastructure, and increasing exports to Asia-Pacific countries;
– "From the Edge of the Earth to the Big Market," where students analyzed real-world case studies of Far Eastern entrepreneurs scaling local brands, entering export markets, and building efficient logistics chains to the Asia-Pacific region by leveraging state support mechanisms and development institutions;
– "30 Questions for the Governor," an open dialogue session where students and young entrepreneurs engaged with the regional head on key topics such as education, career paths, entrepreneurship, and the role of youth in the development of the Far East. Gubkin University was represented at the event by members of the Student Scientific Society: Anastasia Lysenko (Group KhTM-26-01), former chair of the Student Scientific Society of the Faculty of Chemical Technology and Ecology; Ivan Vasiliev (Group EE-24-08), chair of the Student Scientific Society of the Faculty of Economics and Management; and student Evgenia Kharina (Group EE-24-02).

The participation of Gubkin University Student Scientific Society members in external events is carried out as part of the Society’s development program, "Strategy of New Discoveries."
