Annual scientific and practical conference "Technological sovereignty as a priority for the development of the Russian fuel and energy complex"

On April 15, 2025, the annual scientific and practical conference of the Faculty of International Energy Business "Technological sovereignty as a priority for the development of the Russian fuel and energy complex" was held, timed to coincide with the 95th anniversary of Gubkin University.

The event was organized in 2025 by the (basic) Department of Innovation Management. The conference was organized in a hybrid format (in person and online), which allowed more than 130 participants from Moscow, St. Petersburg, Perm, Tyumen, Kogalym to take part in its work. By the beginning of the conference, the Faculty of International Energy Business published a collective monograph "Technological sovereignty as a priority for the development of the Russian fuel and energy complex (individual directions and priorities for the development of the fuel and energy complex under sanctions)".

The conference participants were welcomed by the Dean of the Faculty of International Energy Business Elena Telegina, who noted the importance and relevance of the formation of technological sovereignty of our country during the period of geopolitical turbulence, especially in strategically important energy sectors.

The conference moderator, head of the Department (basic) of innovation management Irina Andronova drew attention to the need for an integrated approach to issues of ensuring the technological sovereignty of the Russian fuel and energy complex and the important role of engineering education.

The report on the topic "New World: Society, Geopolitics and Geoenergetics" was made by the General Director of the Institute of Energy Strategy, Honorary Doctor of Gubkin University Vitaly Bushuev, who noted the features of the transformation of energy in the context of a changing world and the growing role of electrification in the modern global economy.

The prospects for developing the resource base of the Khanty-Mansiysk Autonomous Okrug - Yugra as the basis for long-term stability of the oil industry of the Russian Federation were discussed by the Director of the Department of Subsoil Use and Natural Resources of the Khanty-Mansiysk Autonomous Okrug - Yugra, PhD in Economics Sergey Filatov.

The joint report "On the need for new methods and technologies in the operation of the oil and gas complex as a basic element of the country's energy security" (Deputy Director for Implementation and Interaction with Industry of the Institute of Oil and Gas Research of the Russian Academy of Sciences, PhD in Geology and Mineralogy Alexey Sapozhnikov, Chief Researcher of the Institute of Oil and Gas Research of the Russian Academy of Sciences, PhD in Economics Alexey Mastepanov, Head of the Department of Scientific and Methodological Support for Development of Gazprom-VNIIGAZ LLC, PhD in Geology and Mineralogy Oleg Bogdanov) touched upon the most important aspects of developing new approaches to the implementation of new technologies and equipment.

Andrey Ryabets, Quality Director of ALMA Services Company LLC, made a report on the role of artificial intelligence in ensuring technological independence.

A joint report by representatives of the Production and Service Center of the energy company was made on modern approaches to training hybrid oil engineers based on the model of interaction between business, science and education: Deputy General Director for HR and Administrative Issues Dmitry Samoilov, Head of the Department for Interaction with Scientific and Educational Organizations, Professor, Doctor of Economics Irina Andronova, Senior Manager of the Department for Interaction with Scientific and Educational Organizations, Associate Professor, PhD in Economics Yulia Bachinina, Project Manager, PhD in Geology and Medicine Vitaly Druchin.

After the speakers' speeches at the plenary session, conference participants were given the opportunity to ask questions to the speakers and discuss their thoughts and ideas that arose during the event, which caused a great response from the audience and a heated scientific discussion.

At the end of the event, conference participants congratulated the staff of Gubkin University and the management of the Faculty of International Energy Business on the 95th anniversary of the university and presented congratulatory addresses from the heads and teams of partner companies.
