A university postgraduate student served as an expert at a satellite event of the 6th Congress of Young Scientists.

From June 23 to 27, 2026, a satellite event of the 6th Congress of Young Scientists was held in Chita. The three-day event brought together over 60 experts and scientists from 26 Russian cities, including representatives of the scientific community and businesses in the Trans-Baikal Territory.

The selection of Chita as one of the satellite sites in 2026 underscores the strategic importance of the Trans-Baikal Territory for the development of Russian science. The main goal of the event is to unite the efforts of the scientific community to find practical solutions to the region's pressing problems.

Gubkin University was represented at the event by Anna Zenovskaya, a postgraduate student in the Faculty of Integrated Safety of the Fuel and Energy Complex, an assistant in the Department of Special Programs, and a member of the Student Scientific Society. She joined the expert group developing a system for monitoring and forecasting the consequences of permafrost degradation.

"The satellite events of the Congress of Young Scientists have become an important platform for addressing pressing issues and launching new projects in the country's scientific and technological development. The Zabaikalsky Krai has significant potential for advancing research in environmental safety and adaptation to climate change. The satellite will focus on monitoring and countering the negative effects of permafrost and developing systems for the early detection and prevention of wildfires," noted Denis Sekirinsky, Deputy Minister of Science and Higher Education of the Russian Federation.

An expert group working on developing a scientific and technological system for the early detection and technological support of wildfire suppression traveled to the village of Atamanovka, where a major wildfire occurred last year. On site, the specialists examined the aftermath of the emergency and discussed fire spread and the main factors influencing fire outbreaks in the region with representatives of the Ministry of Forestry and Fire Safety of the Zabaikalsky Krai, as well as volunteers from the All-Russian Student Rescue Corps. Participants were also presented with developments by Transbaikal specialists aimed at improving monitoring, early detection, and rapid response to fires.

On June 26, 2026, the final plenary session of the satellite event of the VI Congress of Young Scientists was held in Chita.

The groups were moderated by leading experts: Andrey Egorov, founder of the Skolkovo Open University, and Dmitry Liss, director of the Advanced Engineering School at Tyumen State University.

Projects were presented by scientists from the N.G. Chernyshevsky Saratov National Research State University and other scientific centers across the country. Representatives of the Ministry of Forestry and Fire Safety, the Ministry of Construction, and Alexey Yemelyukov, Advisor to the Governor of the Transbaikal Territory on Housing and Utilities and Construction, spoke as audience members and experts from the region. Yemelyukov, Deputy Chairman of the Government of the Transbaikal Territory for Construction, noted his readiness to support the scientists' initiatives, provided contact information, and thanked the participants for their commitment.

The results of the event were summarized by Ali Asadov, Deputy Director of the Department of State Policy in Scientific and Technological Development at the Ministry of Science and Higher Education of the Russian Federation. He noted the high level of development of the proposals and their practical significance for the socioeconomic development of the region.
