9th Annual Congress and Exhibition "Azot Sintezgaz Russia and the CIS"
The 9th Annual Congress and Exhibition "Azot Sintezgaz Russia and the CIS" was held in Moscow from May 21 to 22, 2026. The event focused on the development of gas processing, methanol production, ammonia, nitrogen fertilizers, hydrogen, urea, and related syngas processing products.
The congress served as a platform for communication between manufacturing executives, representatives of regulatory bodies, design and engineering organizations, and suppliers of equipment, technology, and service solutions. According to the organizers' publicly available materials, the 2026 program included over 200 participants, over 20 investment projects, and over 40 speakers and panelists.
The business program addressed issues of integrating gas processing and the nitrogen industry, increasing processing capacity, developing mineral fertilizer and methanol production, and creating a domestic mechanical engineering cluster to meet the needs of the industry.
Special attention was paid to technological transformation: reengineering, modernization, and digitalization of critical industrial equipment, component selection, technological adaptation of enterprises, and reducing dependence on imported solutions.
Gubkin University was represented at the event by members of the Student Scientific Society:
– Faculty of Oil and Gas Field Development: Denis Boyarkin, Pavel Kiosse, Artem Krutikov, and Leila Samedova (RN-23-06 group);
– Faculty of Design, Construction, and Operation of Pipeline Transport Systems: Samira Fasalova (TP-24-08 group);
– Faculty of Chemical Engineering and Ecology: Anastasia Dunaeva, Anastasia Ivanova, Yaroslava Kornilina (group HT-23-02), Vadim Tsukanov (group HT-23-07);
– Faculty of International Energy Business: Elizaveta Selivanova (group BM-22-04).
The students' participation was intended to provide organizational support for a professional industry event and to familiarize them with current developments in the gas chemistry, nitrogen industry, and syngas processing industries. During their work at the event, the students gained practical experience in supporting the business program, interacting with participants and organizers, and understanding the applied problems being solved by enterprises in the chemical and petrochemical industries.
Representing members of the Gubkin University Student Scientific Society at external venues is part of the university's Student Scientific Society development program, "Strategy for New Discoveries."
