1st Intra-University Scientific and Practical Conference "Unmanned Aircraft Technologies in Fuel and Energy Sector Business Processes"

On June 9, 2026, the 1st Intra-University Scientific and Practical Conference "Unmanned Aircraft Technologies in Fuel and Energy Sector Business Processes" was held at the Petrovskoye Geological Survey Training Center. The conference was organized by the Department of Specialized Programs with the support of the Laboratory of Robotic Systems and Technologies for Fuel and Energy Sector Security as part of the introductory training for students of the Faculty of Integrated Fuel and Energy Sector Security.

The event focused on the implementation of unmanned aircraft technologies in the business processes of the fuel and energy sector.

Welcoming remarks were given by Oleg Chetverikov, Acting Director of the Orenburg Branch of the Gubkin Russian State University of Oil and Gas (National Research University); and Professor of the Department of Specialized Programs, Doctor of Engineering. Valery Konurkin, Head of the Special Programs Department, Mikhail Guskov, and Nikita Glushchenko, Head of the Laboratory of Autonomous Robotic Systems and Technologies for Ensuring Fuel and Energy Complex Facilities Security.

The conference featured 12 speakers, including Nelli Semykina, Head of the Educational and Methodological Department of the Orenburg Branch of the Gubkin Russian State University of Oil and Gas (National Research University), and Gubkin University students.

The conference addressed a wide range of issues related to unmanned aerial vehicle technologies and their implementation in fuel and energy sector business processes, including ways to combat the illegal use of UAVs, prospects for import substitution in the UAV sector, ensuring the operability of UAVs for pipeline monitoring in permafrost zones, and ensuring operator safety during UAV operation.

The organizing committee expressed gratitude to its colleagues who participated in organizing and hosting the conference.

The event was organized with the participation of the Gubkin University Student Scientific Society.
