Gubkin University took first place in the ranking of "green" universities in Moscow

The All-Russian program "Green Universities of Russia" summed up the results of the ranking of "green" universities for the past academic year. Educational institutions of Moscow and the regions of the country spoke about their environmental practices in the field of environmental education, waste management, transport, landscaping, responsible procurement, energy and water use.

Based on the results of work in 2023, Gubkin University took first place among Moscow universities and eighth place in the ranking of "green" universities in Russia. The rating is formed in order to assess the environmental index and the potential of higher education organizations in this area. It is compiled on the basis of data on the results of the activities of educational organizations in the field of environmental education, upbringing and the introduction of nature-saving practices that help reduce the environmental footprint of these organizations.

Participants demonstrate unique approaches to combining education, innovation and environmental responsibility, including the introduction of separate waste collection systems, the development of "green" campus infrastructure, and the holding of educational events. The organizers noted the implementation of scientific environmental initiatives of the student scientific society and the environmental club of Gubkin University. This rating from the ERA Youth Initiatives Support Fund, conducted annually, evaluates the efforts of educational institutions in the field of sustainable development, ecology and energy conservation. The rating is formed with the support of the All-Russian program "Green Universities of Russia", the Interregional Environmental Public Organization "ECA", and with the support of the Presidential Grants Fund.
