Gubkin University Leads Industry-Specific Universities in Education Quality
Gubkin Russian State University of Oil and Gas (National Research University) ranked first in the quality of education among industry-specific universities according to the 2026 RAEX-100 ranking of the best Russian universities, presented at the "Three Missions of Russian Education" forum. The university retained its 2025 ranking.
In the overall ranking of universities, Gubkin University entered the top 30, ranking 27th, also retaining its 2025 ranking.
In terms of graduate demand by employers, Gubkin University ranked first among industry-specific universities and 15th overall. The ranking methodology took into account career quality, the number of graduates holding management positions at major companies, employers' assessment of the quality of graduates' applied knowledge, and other criteria.
A total of 213 universities participated in the 2026 ranking, with over 160,000 online respondents. Experts assessed three key integral factors: conditions for obtaining a high-quality education, employer demand for graduates, and the university's level of research activity.
In 2025-2026, Gubkin University will collaborate with nearly 300 leading oil and gas companies to train personnel and conduct research. The university's partners include Gazprom, Gazprom Neft, Rosneft, Transneft, RussNeft, Caspian Pipeline Consortium-R, NOVATEK, Rosgeo, and others.
Representatives of employer companies also participated in the RAEX study.
