Gubkin University Enters Top 10 Universities by Salaries of Chemistry Graduates
The National University of Oil and Gas “Gubkin University” (NRU) has entered the top ten universities in the country by salary levels of graduates in chemistry-related fields, according to the SuperJob ranking.
The SuperJob research center prepared the ranking based on an analysis of the incomes of 2020–2025 graduates. The study included universities that train specialists in chemistry, chemical engineering, engineering chemistry, and pharmaceutical specialties. For each educational institution, at least 70 resumes of specialists who have worked in their field for at least one year were analyzed.
According to the ranking, a Gubkin University graduate working in Moscow can expect a starting salary of 155,000 rubles.
According to internal monitoring data of Gubkin University, graduates’ salaries grow on average by 30% within the first two years after graduation.
Gubkin University trains students in such chemistry-related specialties as chemical technology of oil and gas, energy- and resource-saving processes in petrochemistry and biotechnology, ecology of the oil and gas complex, and others. Among the university’s partners are PJSC Gazprom, PJSC Gazprom Neft, PJSC NK Rosneft, PJSC Transneft, PJSC NK RussNeft, JSC Caspian Pipeline Consortium-R, PJSC NOVATEK, JSC Rosgeo, and other companies.
“The university integrates industry and cross-industry demands for personnel training and the development of necessary technologies by carrying out research for enterprises. Research scientists are involved in teaching specialized courses,” noted Gubkin University Rector Victor Martynov.
The SuperJob ranking published data on the universities that took the top 20 positions in terms of graduates’ salary levels. The source of information was the portal’s resume database (more than 50 million resumes) and other open sources. The data collection period was two months prior to the ranking’s release date. At least half of the analyzed resumes belong to graduates working in their field whose actual incomes correspond to their salary expectations.
