The Times Higher Education World University Rankings for engineering and technology subjects uses the same rigorous and balanced range of 13 performance indicators as the overall World University Rankings, but the methodology has been recalibrated to suit the individual fields. The performance indicators are grouped into five areas: teaching (the learning environment); research (volume, income and reputation); citations (research influence); international outlook (staff, students and research); and industry income (knowledge transfer).

ТНЕ World University Rankings for engineering and technology subjects highlights the universities that are leading across general engineering, electrical and electronic engineering, mechanical and aerospace engineering, civil engineering and chemical engineering subjects.

This year the list has expanded to include 1,008 universities, up from 903 last year.
