The annual meeting of the Board members of the Foundation of Gubkin University Alumni was held at Gubkin University
On April 17, 2018 as part of special events dedicated to 88th Anniversary of Gubkin University, the annual meeting of the Board members of the Foundation of Gubkin University Alumni was held at Gubkin University.
At the meeting, participants reviewed the progress of the Foundation in 2017, approved the charitable projects for 2018, elected management bodies, and viewed the presentation of the seventh issue of the Almanac magazine.
The Chairman of the Board of the Foundation of Gubkin University Alumni Ivan Matlashov, the Executive Deputy Chairman of the Board of the Foundation of Gubkin University Alumni Sergei Viryaskin, the Director General of the Foundation of Gubkin University Alumni Gulnara Rakipova made reports on the Foundation activities in 2017.
The amount of financial support provided by the Foundation of Gubkin University Alumni in 2017 amounted to ten million rubles.
"The main project of the Foundation during the reporting period has remained the Program for Support of Young Lecturers of Gubkin University. In 2017, 33 young University lecturers under the age of 35 received financial support. Traditionally, four grants of the Program are Presidential, and provided by the initiator of the project, the honorary graduate, the President of Gubkin University, Professor Albert Vladimirov. A record number of grants in the current academic year has become possible due to the support of our honorary graduates – Albert Vladimirov, Ashot Khachaturyants, Alexander Dzhaparidze, Yevgeny Kochnev, Nikolai Kaplun; honorary participants of the Foundation – Alexander Kochnev, Semyon Vainshtok, Sergey Muravlenko, Nikolay Borisenko; and such companies as NOVATEK, Gazpromtrans, Eurasia Management, KNGK-Group, Yuzhno-Aksyutino, DATAPRO, ROEL Project Management”, – said Ivan Matlashov, Chairman of the Board of the Foundation of Gubkin University Alumni.
The other major project of the Foundation in 2017 was the Project for Support of Students. For two semesters in 2017, 10 scholarships were given to the winners of competitions; 57 Gubkin University students actively engaged in social activities of the University took part in these competitions.
An important activity of the Foundation is also the support of the University students-athletes.
In 2017, the Foundation also contributed to improvement of the material and technical resources of the University. The major financial support amounting to 2.7 million rubles in the implementation of these projects was provided by honorary graduates Mikhail Kiyko, Vladimir Sveshnikov, Stanislav Tikhonov; honorary partners of the Foundation – Ust-Kamenogorsk Valve Plant and Gazprom Dobycha Urengoy.
“This year 63 legal entities and individuals contributed to the Foundation project activity have been recognized the Benefactors of 2017; seven Gubkin University graduates were awarded the title of an honorary graduate of Gubkin University”, – reported Sergey Viryaskin, the Executive Deputy Chairman of the Board of the Foundation of Gubkin University Alumni.
The Foundation of Gubkin University Alumni was established in 2000 in order to keep the existing traditions of Gubkin University, secure continuity of the experience gained, contribute to development of the University in accordance with the long-term interests of the fuel and energy sector, assist the University alumni in their professional activity, and maintain and strengthen ties between them.
