New aspects of research and technical cooperation between Gubkin University and Transneft R&D, LLC
On September 21, Gubkin University hosted the working meeting titled “Technology for hydrocarbon extraction and production” within the framework of the Technology Platform and based on collaboration with JSC Transneft. Participants outlined main issue areas for development of research and technical cooperation.
The panel composed of the following keynote speakers: Rector of Gubkin University, Coordinator of the Technology Platform Viktor Martynov, Deputy Head of the Oil and Gas Production and Transportation Department of the Ministry of Energy of the Russian Federation Alexander Savinov, Director of the Center of Innovative Programs, R&D and Industry Standards of Transneft R&D, LLC Natalya Egorova and Vice-Rector for Innovation and Commercialization of Gubkin University, Director of National Institute of Oil and Gas Mikhail Silin.
The meeting was opened by the Rector of Gubkin University Viktor Martynov who noted in his welcoming message that despite the current geopolitical situation and sanctions against the Russian oil and gas sector, the national science has been able to accumulate its strength and within a short time to put into production the development and advanced technologies for oil and gas industry.
On behalf of the Ministry of Energy of the Russian Federation, participants were greeted by the Deputy Head of the Oil and Gas Production and Transportation Department Alexander Savinov who emphasized the role of the Technology Platform as a platform for collaboration between private sector, academia and government.
During the meeting the main issue areas of research and development trends were highlighted by the participants as well as research results with regard to JSC Transneft corporate interests were presented by the members of the Technology Platform.
The meeting was attended by the representatives of 56 Russian organizations from the Far East to Murmansk and St. Petersburg, including National Research Tomsk Polytechnic University, Murmansk State Technical University, Schmidt Institute of Physics of the Earth of the Russian Academy of Sciences, Lavrentyev Institute of Hydrodynamics of the Siberian Branch of the Russian Academy of Sciences, Ufa State Petroleum Technological University, Institute of Problems of Chemical Physics of the Russian Academy of Sciences, Yugra State University, Peter the Great St. Petersburg Polytechnic University, Gubkin Russian State University of Oil and Gas (National Research University), JSC Transneft and many others.
"As part of the Technology Platform we join the efforts of the national oil and gas and service companies, research institutes and industrial platforms to create a powerful and systematic mechanism for development and implementation of import-substituting technology for sustainable development and research and technical superiority of the Russian oil and gas industry," said the Vice-Rector for Innovation and Commercialization of Gubkin University Mikhail Silin.
