Meeting with representatives of the diplomatic corps

On April 16, 2025, Rector of the Gubkin Russian State University of Oil and Gas (National Research University) Viktor Martynov held a meeting with representatives of the diplomatic corps in connection with the celebration of the 95th anniversary of the university. The meeting was also attended by Vice-Rector for International Affairs Alexander Maksimenko and Head of the Department for Work with Foreign Students Alexander Shcherbina, as well as ambassadors and representatives of embassies of 27 foreign countries.

Opening the meeting, Viktor Martynov warmly welcomed the guests and emphasized the importance of the university's cooperation with foreign countries. He recalled that the training of oil and gas industry specialists for foreign countries has been going on for over 75 years. During this period, the university has trained over 12,500 highly qualified specialists for 115 countries, many of whom have achieved significant heights and become outstanding scientists, company directors, and even ministers in their countries.

Today, about 800 students from 97 foreign countries study within the walls of the university. The rector expressed confidence that thanks to the creation of favorable conditions for study and life, foreign students feel comfortable within the walls of the university, actively participate in cultural and social life, master the Russian language, get acquainted with the culture and traditions of Russia, deepening their understanding of our country.

Emphasizing the importance of international cooperation, Viktor Martynov outlined the goal of further expanding the network of international partners and increasing the number of foreign students, since Gubkin University has always strived and strives to strengthen its position in the international educational space.

The following delivered a response: Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela to the Russian Federation Mr. Jesus Rafael Salazar Velasquez, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Lebanese Republic to the Russian Federation Mr. Shauki Bou Nassar, First Secretary of the Embassy of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam to the Russian Federation Ms. Mai Nguyen Tuyet Hoa and First Secretary of the Embassy of the Republic of Chad to the Russian Federation Mr. Hassan Kashallah Kasser. All of them expressed their deep gratitude to the entire staff of the university for their tireless work, dedication, significant contribution to the training of highly qualified specialists and wished the university further success in this matter.

The performance of the university's foreign students, who sang the song "I love you, Russia", demonstrating their affection for our country and its culture, attracted special attention of those gathered. This episode emphasized the friendly atmosphere and intercultural interaction between the university students.

The meeting of the university management with representatives of the diplomatic corps became an important event of the anniversary year, demonstrating the university's commitment to strengthening intercultural ties and developing human resources for the global energy sector.

A festive concert was held at the Gubkinets Cultural Center on April 17, 2025. Representatives of the Embassy of the People's Republic of China headed by the Plenipotentiary Minister Mr. Zhang Wei took part in the ceremonial event. He was accompanied by: Minister Counselor Mr. Cao Shihai, Second Secretary Ms. Zhao Dan and Third Secretary Ms. Li Jingjing.

Mr. Zhang Wei read out a congratulatory message from the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the People's Republic of China to the Russian Federation Mr. Zhang Hanhui on the occasion of the 95th anniversary.

"Throughout its history, the Gubkin Russian State University of Oil and Gas (National Research University) has been dedicated to the development of the Russian economy and the development of the Russian economy. Gubkin University has come a long way from a small industry university to a major center of Russian science and technology, a "real forge of personnel" for the oil and gas industry of the Russian industry. Today, the university is a leader in the field of oil and gas education in the country, offering a wide range of higher education programs in various fields. Over the course of its development, the university has paid great attention to international cooperation. The People's Republic of China is one of the most important and priority partners of Gubkin University. Currently, more than 300 Chinese students are studying at the university, cooperation with many Chinese universities, scientific organizations and enterprises is successfully developing," Mr. Zhang Hanhui noted in his message.
