Gubkin University to train specialists in Oil and Gas for China National Petroleum Corporation

Gubkin Russian State University of Oil and Gas (National Research University) will train a group of specialists in Oil and Gas at the request of China National Petroleum Corporation (CNPC).

Current CNPC employees will be sent for training, who will undergo training in master's programs of the "Design of Hydrocarbon Field Development Systems" and "International Oil and Gas Business". The students will come to Gubkin University as part of a cooperation agreement with the China University of Petroleum (Beijing).

"Gubkin University has educational equipment that uses digital twin technologies. There are no such laboratories in Chinese universities," said Alexander Shcherbina, Head of the Department for Work with Foreign Students.

The University has a Field Development Management Center, which allows simulating real production situations during oil and gas production using virtual reality objects, as well as the only Offshore Drilling Center in the country. Currently, a unique training ground for underwater production equipment is being created, where the first domestic models of equipment for developing offshore fields will be presented.

Gubkin University's cooperation with organizations and enterprises of the People's Republic of China began in the 1950s of the last century. In 1953, the University participated in the creation of the China University of Petroleum (Beijing), providing support in the development of educational programs.
