Gubkin University expands cooperation with LUKOIL in Tashkent, Uzbekistan

On November 14, 2017 the Rector Viktor Martynov and the Vice-Rector for International Affairs, Head of Tashkent Branch Alexander Maksimenko visited the branch of Gubkin University located in Tashkent, Uzbekistan, and participated in the international conference “Training and development of national human resources in international companies”.

The program of the visit in Tashkent included presentation of achievements of the educational institution, its structure, material and technical equipment of academic and laboratory buildings, introduction to educational process. The Vice President for Human Resources Management and Corporate Structure Development of LUKOIL Anatoliy Moskalenko and the Deputy General Director of LUKOIL Uzbekistan Operating Company Sergey Starostinsky were also among the members of the delegation.

As part of the program, the delegation members took part in the international conference “Training and development of national human resources in international companies” hosted by LUKOIL Uzbekistan Operating Company and Gubkin University. The Conference brought together the representatives of leading oil and gas industry enterprises, educational and training companies of the Russian Federation, the Republic of Uzbekistan and other foreign countries. The Conference was aimed to discuss the issues of training and development of human resources, including collaboration between universities, the role of corporate training centers, and exchange of experience between international and national companies.

“Tashkent branch of Gubkin University plans to start training in a number of new programs – machinery and equipment for oil and gas production and automation. Our branch trains specialists for the oil and gas industry of Uzbekistan, and there is no shortage of human resources in the Republic. Now it is necessary to move from quantitative to qualitative indicators. We train specialists for specific jobs and our graduates have no problems with further employment,” said the Rector of Gubkin University Viktor Martynov.

To expand regional cooperation in Qashqadaryo Region of Uzbekistan, the training center was opened not long ago to receive talented children who will later be able to enter Tashkent branch of Gubkin University. Annually, it will be able to train about 200 students.

At the moment Tashkent branch of Gubkin University established in January 2007 is one of the most prestigious universities in the Republic. Its main goal is the training of highly qualified personnel for the oil and gas industry of the country based on universally recognized world standards and training programs.

During the conference a cooperation agreement was signed between LUKOIL Uzbekistan Operating Company, Tashkent branch of Gubkin University, the State Committee of the Republic of Bashkortostan on Informatization and Functioning of the System “Open Republic” and the Private Educational Institution of Additional Education Ufa Educational Center “Bashneftekhim”.
