University students at the summer schools of Harbin Institute of Technology

From July 9 to 15, 2025, the international summer school "Digital Economy and Intelligent Decision" was held, dedicated to modern trends in the field of digital technologies, artificial intelligence, blockchain and data analysis. The event was attended by student of group KZ-21-12 Zhanna Kochetova and young researchers from different countries, including Russia, China, South Korea, Singapore, Great Britain and Australia.

Harbin Institute of Technology is one of the leading engineering and technical universities in China and is a member of the prestigious academic league C9. As part of the school, participants were given the opportunity to get acquainted with the university's infrastructure, research laboratories and cultural sites.

The academic program included a series of lectures from leading teachers and researchers representing prestigious universities around the world. The lectures covered a wide range of topics reflecting the key challenges of the digital era. The discussions included the use of artificial intelligence in medicine and online services, the use of neural networks in financial modeling, the transparency of crowdfunding projects, the development of the digital economy, and the transformation of the traditional automotive industry under the influence of digital platforms.

From July 7 to 18, 2025, the Arctic Summer School "Arctic Environment and Ecosystem" was held, where Daria Nuriyeva, a student of the BMMv-23-12 group, took part. The training was held with students from different countries, including China, Russia, Uzbekistan, Mexico, South Africa, Pakistan, and South Korea.

The program included a course of lectures on the causes and consequences of the emergence of persistent organic pollutants in the Arctic region, and laboratory classes were held to analyze the content of harmful substances in the air and water.

The students visited the Longfengshan air pollution monitoring station, which is a key monitoring point within the World Meteorological Organization, and got acquainted with the main equipment that can be used to measure the main indicators of the state of the atmosphere in real time.

From June 30 to July 26, 2025, a summer language school was held, where Veronika Shulgina, a student of group KO-22-14, took part. The school was focused on developing Chinese language skills, familiarizing students with Chinese culture, and immersing students in an authentic communication environment.

In addition to academic events, the program of all schools also included a cultural program. Gubkin students visited the history museum of Harbin University and traced its development from its foundation to the status of one of the most important technical universities in China. In the University's Space Museum, they got acquainted with the engineering developments that were involved in the creation of Chinese satellites, navigation systems, and rocket technology. The Tiger Park and Sunny Island were also not ignored.

An integral part of all schools were informal meetings, team assignments and intercultural sessions, where participants exchanged experiences, shared knowledge about their countries and education systems. Thanks to this format, summer schools became not only an educational platform, but also a space for the formation of an international student community.

Summer schools at Harbin Institute of Technology became a significant step in the academic and professional development of students. Participation in the programs allowed not only to deepen knowledge in various fields of science, but also to expand international connections, gain an understanding of scientific priorities in the global agenda and feel part of the international academic community.
