Gubkin University at Russian Energy Week 2018

On October 3-6, 2018 the international forum called Russian Energy Week 2018 was held in Moscow. The event was ended with the Youth Day #TogetherBrighter REW 2018. Gubkin University was represented by young faculty members and over 100 activists of the student scientific community, who got involved in organizing the forum as volunteers.

The forum was aimed to demonstrate the prospects of the Russian fuel and energy complex and to unlock the potential of international cooperation in the energy field. The event became a platform for discussing the main challenges faced by the energy sector today. Within the framework of the forum, the sessions aimed to solve the issues related to the development of the energy sector, including its oil and gas components, as well as the Youth Day #TogetherBrighter REW 2018 were organized.

Gubkin University delegation participated in the Youth Day. The event program included a job fair, business communication between industry companies and universities, and a key event – the meeting with the Minister of Energy of the Russian Federation Alexander Novak, where participants got an opportunity to ask questions.

In addition, Gubkin University students attended the session “Sustainable Energy of the Federal Districts of the Russian Federation”. The main objectives of the session were to involve young people in relevant projects on development of energy and energy efficiency as well as to motivate them for further personal and professional development, being proactive in relevant industry projects.

At the end of the Youth Day, the team of the Student Scientific Society of the Faculty of Petroleum Geology and Geophysics from Gubkin University became the winner in nomination “The best territorial approach to SDGs”, and the team of the Student Scientific Society of the Faculty of International Energy Business from Gubkin University became the first in nomination “Strength and confidence” and received a special award for creative and scientific approach.
