The professional retraining program on oil engineering was successfully delivered by Gubkin University

On 2 July 2019, the official ceremony of granting diplomas of professional retraining to specialists who had successfully completed the program on oil engineering was held in Yuzhno-Sakhalinsk. 17 students and 2 faculty members of Sakhalin State University received their diplomas.

The program was developed and organized by Gubkin University in order to train engineers for the oil and gas industry. The program modules included both lectures and practical assignments, and were delivered by visiting Gubkin University faculty members. At the end of the program, students had to pass the final interdisciplinary exam. 17 students and 2 faculty members of Sakhalin State University completed the professional retraining program in 2019.

The professional retraining program on oil engineering was launched in 2017 with the financial support of the international consortium “Sakhalin-1” as part of the project’s operating company – Exxon Neftegas Limited, Japanese consortium SODECO, Russian oil company Rosneft, and Indian state-owned oil company ONGC Videsh Ltd. The first graduation of students under the professional retraining program took place in 2018.
