The First Winter School "Introduction to the LNG Industry"

From February 18 to 20, 2026, the first winter school "Introduction to the LNG Industry" was held at Gubkin University's blended-format Master's program "Liquefied Natural Gas Production Engineering."

Over 130 participants, including schoolchildren, students, and faculty, participated in the winter school. A distance learning format was available for external participants.

Participants who demonstrated the best results in completing instructor assignments received additional advantages when applying to the master's program. The school program combined lectures, practical seminars, and live professional interaction with leading faculty members of the Master's program "Liquefied Natural Gas Production Engineering" and representatives of relevant industry companies.

The following topics were covered as part of the winter school program:

- General principles and features of LNG production;
- LNG transportation and storage technologies;
- Modern materials and equipment requirements for LNG complexes;
- Fundamentals of designing and engineering LNG infrastructure facilities;
- Heat exchange and cryogenic processes in gas liquefaction technologies.

Upon completion of the winter school "Introduction to the LNG Industry," all participants who attended the three-day course (in person or online) were awarded certificates of completion.

The event was organized with the active participation of the Gubkin University Student Scientific Society.
